SUSTAINABLE ATTRIBUTES

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we represent - from using flax (one of the most sustainable raw materials in the world) to locally producing designs in our London studio; we treasure our relationship with our artisans to bring you the most beautiful silhouettes in the most sustainable way.

Fibre to Fabric

We pride ourselves on our continuous association with organic farmers and spinners, all of whom contribute significantly to preserving the heritage of Belgian linen. Compared to other crops, the flax plant requires no additional irrigation, therefore relying on natural rainwater during production. Our linen is produced in a carbon neutral factory, located within a 1km radius from the origin of the flax plant.

GOTS Organic Linen

Organic linen is pesticide free and produced by protecting the farmers, factory workers and ultimately the end consumer. Our organic linen is soft, breathable and 100% GOTS certified, a worldwide standard recognised for organic fibre.

Detailing

Continuing our tradition of transparency, we at Oramai incorporate the use of Corozo in our buttons, this 100% natural product does not use any harmful chemical processes and operates in an environment that is highly sustainable.

Production

Our underlying commitment is to make everlasting collections without compromising on ethics and values. We are proud to be associated with Fashion Revolution’s #WhoMadeMyClothes campaign, which takes into consideration where raw materials are sourced from and who is involved in the production process. Our designs are locally produced in a studio in North London. By producing locally, we ensure that CO2 emissions are kept to a bare minimum, therefore reducing our carbon footprint.

Packaging

While delivering sustainable designs to our customers is of utmost importance to us, we recognise that packaging these designs in the most environmentally friendly way is equally paramount to the entire design process. We collaborate with The Better Packaging Co. to ensure our products are packaged sustainably, using suitable raw materials that eventually reduce the environmental footprint. Our compostable shopping bags are made from plants (corn to be exact) and are 100% biodegradable.
